These Photos are of the Naro Tribe
Tullia lived with the Meera Tribe in a large village that was specially constructed for research by anthropologists, historians, etc. A lot more people live there than you will see in these pictures because, in the past the San lived in small family groups, which is how I met these members of the Naro – s tribe of kalahari bushmen.
The Naro make the jewelry you can see in the picture from natural materials such as white ostrich shells and seeds of various sizes and colours. They sell the earrings, necklaces, bracelets etc. for very little – and the items take a long time to make.
The San Healers “dance” around the fire wearing seed pods around their ankles. They invoke the spirits of their ancestors whose energy flows through them. My group of students was permitted to attend and receive healing. I felt an almost physical realignment of my problem back – it worked wonders then and still does many years later.
There is no music, the women clap and chant in complex overtones and consequently it becomes quite hypnotic. The more so when we joined in with the clapping.
The hole that is left behind when the nut is dug out features in Ripped Apart
The nut itself in Betrayed.
In an out of time-and-space journey in Ripped Apart, the Twins saw a group of men like this one setting his bow
Qwelby sees them again as Tullia goes with them on a hunt for a Kudu in Book 2: Hunted
The San lived off the land, wearing clothes made from animal skins for 70,000 years – until wazungu, white men, came along and destroyed their lives in the pursuit of greed, whch they call “progress” and the dehuminisation which they term “civilisation”
Amongst the oldest Cave Art anywhere in the world, drawings of hands with six fingers.
Showing the Twins are correct that their race lived on Earth a long time ago.
Lots of photos can be found on the internet of rock formations in Africa and America showing drawings of hands with six fingers. I cannot repeat them here as they are copyrighted.
Out Of Body Travel
A battle in the Kalahari involving Dragons and Unicorns – in Book 2: Hunted. The San accept seeing these?
There are hundreds of drawings in ancient caves, as above and in Cueva de El Castillo in Spain dating back 40,800 years, showing therianthropes – part human, part animal. They depict humans going into deep trance as they travel to the the OtherWorld, the world of spirit, the dead, the ancestors. To do that, each one took on the form of an animal, bird, fish or even insect.
Today we know such images, for example from dreams or psychoanalysis, as the Psychopomp. They also often appear in ordinary meditation.
Those journeys were not restricted to anyone special such as a Shaman, Sangoma or Medican Man/Woman, but were experienced by as much as half of the tribe.
Kudu Hunt in Hunted
Tullia’s experince in Hunted at the end of the hunt, out-of-body and looking down at herself.
By no means unique. Many recorded incidences and, I confess, that part of her story was based on my own experineces. The first occasion was hardly spiritual! My team out for an office lunch, at a local Indian restaurant. I had my first Vidaloo and found myself on the ceiling, looking down at the group. None of the guys believed me.
